Ok, today I am going to talk about 'branding'. But not what you'd normally think. I know you've probably read a lot about it, and don't need or want to hear about that again -- partially because "everyone" seems to say exactly the same thing.
Instead, I am going to talk about how you can actually make it work for you, and get you the more sales, the more business, that you desire. And today's product that will help you do that is EasyCalendarMaker (link: http://www.easycalendarmaker.com/)
So how do you make branding work for you?
Well, first off - (just in case you don't know what it is), - it is regularly getting your company name/picture/image/logo, etc in front of your client. So they get used to 'seeing' you, and associated an 'experience' with it. [Ideally, it is a good experience :)]. So, then when it's time to buy, they think of you first.
What most people don't talk about is actually how to do it. And I'm going to.
Are most people are sheep? Sadly, many, yes.
What's really funny, especially in the 'internet marketing' world, is how I see practically "everyone" following everyone else. One person says "sliced bread" is the greatest thing, so "everyone" starts selling sliced bread. Then someone else says "toast" is the best thing, so "everyone" starts selling toast. More specifically, over the last few years in the internet world, it's the idea of offering ".pdf" "e-books/reports/courses/etc" to make a sale. There are a lot of sheep, and lots of people doing that. But in order to be successful, you've got to stick out. Because now 'everyone' is doing that (offering 'free'. pdf reports), and it's lost it's effectiveness (if all you do is copy exactly what was done before).
If you haven't heard (or seen it already), a long time ago ('hundreds' of years ago in internet time), someone had the bright idea of offering a ".pdf" "exclusive" report. The idea was, you offer a "free" report, then someone gives you an e-mail address. Then, they give you an e-mail address, you follow them up with messages, and hopefully somewhere down along the line they decide to buy from you. But the thing is, everyone is doing that nowadays, and bombarded with exactly the same stuff.
It did work, and does still work to some degree, but if that's all you do, won't be as effective as before.
So how do you make it work for you?
Like I said, be unique. You can 'copy' what worked in the past -- but you really need to add to it, make it better, to stick out.
So how does the EasyCalendarMaker tie into this?
Well, let's stick with the example of offering a free .pdf report. You could offer a "free" .pdf "report" about your business (whether it's water heaters, cooling systems, automobiles, computer software, website design, etc, etc)... OR...
You could offer them something much cooler than that. Like a yearly calendar with pictures related to your business, and of course your company logo printed on every single page. If you are a car dealership, of course the latest and coolest looking cars. If you are a dentist - why not pictures of good looking teeth (or more specifically -- pretty girls with good looking teeth? :)) Or, as I was surprised the other day when I walked into the vet -- it was a calendar of "microbes" related to pets! (I.e., someone has used an electron microscope and supersized by 1000's of times microbes you could find related to pets!) The vet had that hanging in his office...
So, now when someone comes to your website, instead of getting the boring old popup message that says "Hi! Thanks for visiting our website. Enter your e-mail to get this COOL report on how to do whatever..."... you can make it sound more exciting like "Hi! Sign up to get this COOL calendar that you can print off with AWESOME pictures!" At the very least, curiosity will get people to click to see what it is.
And what is cool -- is with the software application I've chosen today, you can actually import your own pictures into the calendar, change the shape/size of the calendar, then print it off as an image. You can then import those images into a microsoft word document, and save it as a .pdf file. Then, offer that to people.
Not only are you more likely to get people downloading out of curiosity to see what it is, but you'll also get them to print it off -- and see your COMPANY MESSAGE 365 times, for ONE YEAR! How cool is that?
Anyways, the software application is here: http://www.easycalendarmaker.com/
